On the first listen, you might think that the Bay Area group Monophonics is some fabled lost group from the 1960s, their record an ultra-rare groove found in the collection of only the most knowledgeable and hip crate-digger.
I’m excited, y’all. The Foreign Exchange is playing in DC on May 2nd. Now I’ve never seen the duo of singer/(sometimes) rapper Phonte and producer Nicolay live before (yes, you can publicly shame me here), but I’ve heard great things about their live set, and believe me when I say that I’m going to be ALL over this one.
